Telega.io geo-filter — target regional audiences easily

The Geo Region feature is a new filter in the Telega.io catalog, allowing advertisers to search for channels by a specific country or its region.

Regional channels focused on covering news and events in particular locations will receive a geo-tag, highlighting them in location-based searches.

Channels without a regional focus will remain in the general catalog search without a geo-tag.

How It Works

Once a channel is assigned a geo-tag, the chosen region will appear in the catalog, visible on the channel’s card and page.

This new filter boosts visibility by displaying the channel in regional listings, making it easier for advertisers targeting specific areas to find and connect with your channel.

How to Receive a Geo-Tag

If your channel is already in the catalog, Telega.io moderators will add a geo-tag based on the content. No extra steps are needed.

If your channel meets regional criteria but hasn’t been tagged, contact support to request a geo-tag.
When registering a new channel on Telega.io, you’ll be asked to select the relevant region during setup. The geo-information will be verified and won’t affect moderation.

Keep in mind that the geo-filter isn’t only for channels focused on a specific country as a whole.

For example, if your channel is dedicated to news or events happening in a specific city, like New York, this tag is still relevant—it will help advertisers find your channel based on that exact location. Even if your content targets a smaller area, selecting the appropriate geo-tag (like USA here) will increase your visibility to the right clients.

This new feature is an excellent opportunity for channels covering regional news and events to attract more local brands and businesses, helping advertisers connect with the right audiences while channel owners receive more relevant advertising offers.
