'If you have a house full of pipes and you know that some of them are broken and will leak, you could spend a lot of time checking each pipe to figure out whether it's broken or not... Or you could turn on the water. And you will know exactly what needs fixing when you do that. Basically, everyone who does startups just turns on the 'water', fixes what’s broken, and iterates. That’s how great companies are built. Take Apple: Wozniak was manually soldering the first Apple computers. Now they are assembling AirPods in a factory and so on. It seems like it’s the same company, but Wozniak's manual soldering is not scalable (whereas a factory in Taiwan is). But that very non-scalability allowed them to become who they are now. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good; try to find any way to get a product into people's hands that they genuinely want, and then solve all the problems that arise – and you’ll end up doing much better than if you tried to get everything right from the start.'
