On December 31, 2024, the government raised import duties on roasted and instant coffee from unfriendly countries. The new rates will affect a small segment (such as Italian coffee in packs), as Russia imports coffee beans mainly from friendly countries (Brazil, Vietnam).
From January 1, 2025, duties on roasted coffee from unfriendly countries have been raised from 8% to 13%, on instant coffee - from 7.5% to 17.5%.

Russians to get opportunity to pay with Mir cards in Iran by June 30.

The third stage, when Iranian citizens will be able to pay with their cards in Russia, is planned in the second half of 2025, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said.

According to Mr. Kazem Jalali, "2025 will see financial and currency issues in the relations between Tehran and Moscow solved. The talks between the two countries’ central banks proceed successfully.

The Bank of Russia has resumed regular operations under the fiscal rule on the domestic foreign exchange market, which were suspended from November 28, 2024, starting January 9, 2025.

From January 15 to June 30, 2025, the Central Bank will buy or sell foreign currency based on the amount of fiscal rule-based operations announced every month by the Finance Ministry adjusted for the amount to be sold, totaling 8.86 bln rubles ($85 mln) per day.
